Can you help me import old wordpress blogs without WXR files?

so i’m tryign to get my old posts to show up on my new blog.

i uploaded all my old wordpress junk to the ftp

just changed the config

thought that would work

yeah the thing is that i was supposed to export them in a WXR file and i didn’t

i just have what was on the server as it was

i don’t know the words to ask my question

i don’t get where all the actual content is in all this wp junk

wp-content?

under uploads there’s all my pics

and it made a new folder for the blog i posted today

so it’s going in the same place

as the old stuff

now i need to get the old stuff to show

does that make sense?

in wordpress i go to tools then import and i don’t know what files to import

The actual content is in a database, which you won’t be able to FTP.

Is your old blog still running? If so, export it from there. It will produce the WXR file for you.

If it’s not, you’re going to have to copy the database to a new one at the new location, and WordPress has no tools for that.
