@GentleBoy17 Yea but Wine is limited. It can’t run Photoshop properly with full RAM, and anyway the system profile won’t allow it coz it won’t get the specs, and most installers won’t even install properly

Why not install XP instead of the Linux in the first place?

Invoking the devil* by the way, where did you get your desktop image?

@Rpahut1 I can’t say specifically, as there are a multitude of reasons why one would use Linux. However, some of the more common reasons to use Linux include coding, increased freedom, and learning how an OS works. He probably ran XP in a virtual box for some game that he couldn’t get to work with Wine.

@Ubernoob85 I can understand why one would use Linux, though provided list of reasons can equally be applied to the Windows. Question is – why use one OS + set of software tools to run slower constrained version of another OS, especially when it can be natively installed on the same machine.

@Rpahut1 Well, he may need to use Linux for things that he can’t do on Windows (IE: an editor, ect.) and he may use Windows so little that he can’t justify a Dual-Boot (his only other option). Another reason may be security.

@johnleeb I like Linux, but I would like to respectfully say to you that I RARLEY game on my PC and when I do it’s online not via disc. I use Windows and it does not crash on me. It’s either I’m lucky or I know how to maintain. I’m a Windows user, but use my Xbox and Playstation to game.

The problem with any virtual machine is you cant run graphics card drivers. And I have also discovered problems with many 2D applications as well.

It is far better to just have separate hard drives and run a different OS on each, yea the rebooting sucks, but you know for sure you stuff will run on what OS is was made for.

Thats what I am doing until there is a really good virtual machine that runs the drivers of all your hardware and all the software works as if if the OS was all by itself.
