@dude8nihon Thanks for pointing this out. But the question was not ignored:
“[...]To third is in terms of trust and so on, I think it’s really important that, you know, users have choice. You know, at a higher level, we are fully open, so everything we do there is transparent to at least developers who can educate users about what’s happening. The second is, you know, we–users are always in control. You know, you can decide what to do[...]”
And the answer satisfies me.
ok…one question….
can i download a movie on to my local memory and watch it in google chrome OS…?
that constitutes an important experience for me…
thanks
Is the operating system free ? if so which site i can download it ? I couldn’t find one
they haven’t released it yet
so when will they ?
He says in the video that they are showing the demo one year ahead of full release.
This video is from Nov 09, so maybe end of 2010.
My guess.
How does Google upload videos over 1 hour 10 minutes long?
Can you please download me an Chrome CD version and send it by poland email???
@Musiphone google owns youtube so they can do whatever they want
Chrome OS will be able to mount a ext4 encrypted partition?
@josvazg I noticed this too. Kind of pissed me off since I had the same question during the talk, and found it to be probably the most important question asked.
@appleaddict. Google is out to destroy apple and microsoft, and by the looks of it, it’s only a matter of time. I highly doubt the two will join forces, but if they do, please read how Google got to their current position to see the future of apple.
@xxSwAmPxx. It’s built on Linux, so that’s a definite yes.
@kylehuynh88. It’s free. Google wants you to use their OS, not pay for it. It’s for advertising and data collection, their main two sources of income.
@peppeddu. It’s Google. It will be supported for life, probably free of charge, seeing as it’s focused on the common desktop user and reliability. You probably won’t have any problems on the final version.
@mman360. AIM, probably. Zune, probably not. Google will wait for Microsoft to design their own program for it, which they probably already doing. It’s a cruel business world.
@lksjfadlk. Eventually, yes. I’m not too sure downloading a movie is in the design considerations. Streaming is though
image you click on an exe and the window pops up in the panel.
@maw88ify dont make me laugh !! Windows98 aint in the stores anymore so how did you pay money for it? :p Microsoft warned on time about the end of 98 updates.
haha its like trying to update Windows386 in 2010 haha moron
@maw88ify you obviously dont understand the meaning of the word open-source! …… . open source doesnt mean its an apple app ,fool! example: Foobar for windows is open-source app as well. read with eyez instead of your ass :p 2wordzz OPEN – SOURCE wich means THE SOURCE IS OPEN , so people get the option to EDIT the application.
and by the way IPHONE SYSTEMS “AINT NO OPENSOURCE’ fool
@peppeddu haha so true!
@kaddy01980 CHROME OS IS NOT FREEE U MORON where da hell did u hear dat hhaha, The internet browser Google Chrome is FREE! but ”Chrome OS” isnt!
@PETKKKO ummmm. you know nothing. I suggest you do more research….
Chrome OS uses the Linux kernel and the entire project is completely OPEN SOURCE and FREE…..
@PETKKKO
The ideas behind HTML5 were pioneered in 2004 by the WHATWG; HTML5 incorporates Web Forms…
Who is WHATWG
The WHATWG was founded by individuals from Apple…
Apple refuses to put flash on the iPhone, and iPad
Money is made from open source…
QUOTE Apple’s web site “Apple believes that using Open Source methodology makes Mac OS X a more robust, secure operating system, as its core components have been subjected to the crucible of peer review for decades. “
@PETKKKO
I was replying to this dumb ass learn to read… He says there are no updates for old Linux… I told him there is no updates for old Windows… That was the point jack ass.
“peppeddu
The real cost of Linux comes when something doesn’t work and you need assistance.
A.K.A. machine downtime, hardware compatibility, expensive support system, and zero security updates for older version.” <<
@PETKKKO
To quote your dumb ass “iPhone Aint no opensource fool” WRONG
Darwin is an open source POSIX-compliant computer operating system released by Apple Inc. in 2000. It is composed of code developed by Apple, as well as code derived from NeXTSTEP, BSD, and other free software projects.
Darwin forms the core set of components upon which Mac OS X, Apple TV, and iPhone OS are based.
@kaddy01980
He’s never used Linux I’m sure of it…
He also doesn’t know Darwin is an open source and that it’s the core of all Apple software… It’s best not to talk to stupid people…
@maw88ify ahahahhahaahah. Very True
