How much open source software do you use?
I use 100% open source.
Yankees Rule
Are you suggesting that only poor people use open source software ? I certainly hope not !
I am also a Computer Technician and I consider your answer to be utter garbage.

Why are you upside down ??
Steve
I bet that gives you a stiff neck though.

I don’t really care much about open source, all I care about is good software
If open source versions r good then I use them, but if the commercial ones r better then I use those, I mean who uses openoffice or GIMP for professional work.
My second favorite operating system after mac os x is open source though, and that is OPENSUSE
I use Applications like GIMP OpenOffice VLC
Can’t possibly use all opensource because i need drivers
I agree as long as the software is good and free spyware free i will use it regardless of opensource or not
On Linux partitions — of course everything other than drivers are open source. On windows partitions only firefox and open office are open source ( rest of them are freeware but non-open source).
Not 100% open-
I use as much as I can depending upon the machine. Got 3 Xp machines, and much as I promote open office, it just doesn’t have the polish and muscle of MSOffice, any variation. The one thing I would luv to see in the OPSource arena, is a world class picture viewing proggie. When I insert a DVD with a TON of pics on it, I do NOT want to import em. I use as much as I can, but take Adobe for example. Who has a reader that can compete with it? None I’ve seen. But the prob with using it, id well- you know. GoOpenSource! Oh! SOme of the audio tools I’ve been playing with are great!
I use Firefox because it seems faster than IE. I also have a copy of Kubuntu Linux installed. However, I do not like OpenOffice.org. Microsoft Office is much better.
I use all open source software because if you dont like it you are free to change it.
I use Firefox & Open Office (Open Office is free and nearly as good as Microsoft office, Firefox is much better then Internet Explorer)
congratulations.
open source programs are not as good as the real thing, they are knock-offs. They are good if you dont have the money and need the program right away for something. But in this case there are also trial versions of these programs. I strongly reccomend Microsot Office 2007, IE7, and Windows XP Home SP2.
I use mostly open-source software. The only closed-source software I can think of that’s installed on my system is virtualbox and adobe flash player
