How to use wordpress plugins?

I would like to put some plugins onto my blog but i don’t know how to. I’m using a Mac and everything is online(blog wise). Is there meant to be a plugin category in the sidebar of my Dashboard(blog)? Help.

wordpress.com does not allow you to use plugins. If you look under help in your wordpress backend, search plugins. It will tell you.
