@triplesquarednine Keep in mind that one can’t optimize Windows or Mac OS X to that degree as they aren’t OSS (though Mac OS X has OSS components). As far as optimizations go, most popular distros are optimized for certain hardware similarily as Windows releases are if not more so.

linux best for servers, but a little more work is needed for out-of-the-box desktop, and they are never optimized.

if you want a fast/optimized linux machine, you need to do everything yourself. which i don’t mind – but the average user doesn’t want the hassle of compiling kernels, software with optimization, use ICC or GCC which can be tricky if your not a programmer…right?

i love linux, it is best though, from my perspective!

and i hate that they call it a PC, macs are PC’s.. agreed?

Mac emulator is crappy, as for viruses i have never had a single one in 12yrs of mac use. they DO exist, but very uncommon mostly found in things like MSoffice mac-editon, not surprisingly

under windows, so f-ing many. i provide tech support for win/mac/linux/unix(bsd) 4 work freelance, and windows tends to be the most problematic out of everything in all cases!

apple won’t go bankrupt – they do better every year

Really?As far as i know only no life bloggers who believe stuff like “NO VIRUSES” like MAC cus there is a thing called MAC EMULATOR. you can run mac stuff on it as far as i know.
So Its LINUX and WINDOWS that will rule the world
Mac will go bankrupt soon >:) (This might be true, since the number of people UNDERSTANDING about computers is increasong and anyone who know about computers knows WINDOWS is best, ask any programmer,sure Vista was a fail but Mac is more fail and Linux is free so its cool)

if you have the money MacOSX is best. you can’t run apple apps in windows, or OSX itself. you CAN run any version of Windows parallel in a Mac and most linux software and MS apps NATIVELY!

a lack of viruses, more secure and posix compliant, like linux/unix.

OSX & linux use far less resources 4 the OS than Windows and have superior memory management. apple also has much higher standards than M$windows.

windows is jsut okay, at it’s very best!

linux and MacOSX are great

I don’t even know why the f$k they compare operating systems with a personal computer. We all know how mac started, by disassembling pc’s. So the mac machine is only a modified PC, that was inspired from a PC. They don’t say windows, they say PC. The apple people where also some of the first ones haking the PC’s. And between secure OS comparisons of course Linux is the best, why the f$k do you think a server use it.
