		<description>Audacity is my personal favorite in Linux environment. It is fast, simple, easy to use audio recording software. It also supports recording in 24 bit and 96Khz which is essential for high quality audio recording (only if your sound card supports it also).

I have written some tutorials in Audacity under Ubuntu here: http://www.audiorecording.me/, which is based on my experience working with Audacity.

I still have to experiment more about Audacity especially its multi-tracking recording ability as well as its support for a wide variety of open source audio recording and mixing plug-in.</description>
