ya, now is when people will agree with it most so they really should re-post at least SOME linux commercial. this one is a little too long, but the ibm ones are good
Serious commercial is serious.
I enjoyed that. Now back to day 3 of trying to get my printer/scanner drivers to work.
Would be nice if someone gave you Linux so drivers are mostly a thing of the past huh.
@Keruaran That may be true, that he used GNU, but had there not been such, he would have used something else and it would work all the same. Linux is inevitable. Linux is unstoppable. Microsoft tried to kill the Linux, but they failed, and were thrown to the ground. Apple tried to become the Linux, but they failed, and were thrown to the ground. BSD tried to outwit the Linux, but they failed, and were thrown to the ground. Commercial Unix systems tried to outclass the Linux, but they cost money
Linux has become the unstoppable force, it’s development driven by the infinite power of community.
Look at those “Professionals” or “Authorities” and their arrogance… as they always speak like Rulers … “because We are the educated people in high society, not like you students or hobbyists, and we know more than you”… “so if you don’t like it, no freedom?? Go and F*&^ yourself, we just keep making your money”
Getting a program to install and run in Linux is like booking a flight to Hawaii, but having to print the tickets yourself, building the airplane, fueling the airplane, and then flying it to Hawaii yourself…..crashing all the way.
It won’t until the warring states of Linux come together. In its current state, it’s a trainwreck, but can very easily be righted with tighter collaboration.
@reivenlocke lol I think describing things like Ubuntu as a “trainwreck” is a bit excessive, but I do kinda see your point – I think it needs more.. yes collaboration, and also continued refinement of the final product
Nice retort. Keep jumping through hoops and thinking you’re fighting the good fight.
Linux mint is the best,ubuntu is garbage.
@MrTabby5000 Last thing open source needs is supporters fighting over flavors, if it’s linux, it rox, PERIOD
No ubuntu needs a lot of work.
Use the repositories,its all there.
Provided the repos even load up.
Provided that it even installs even after it does load up.
And both scenarios have happened to me because the OS is so fragile that one false slip, one disagreeable or impartial install has the chance of breaking your installation. That is why is say the scene needs more collaboration, so crap like that doesn’t happen…at least not so often.
@hoppimike and @reivenlocke
if you both want more refinement, use a distro like debian. they absolutely make sure everything is stable before releasing it. for something designed for linux beginners, ubuntu is kinda a bad choice because its not very stable
@schmidtbag I’m not a beginner
I’ve been using Linux for years, it’s just I like an OS that’s user-friendly and attractive/stylish! And I don’t like macs lol
Muy bueno,me estoy estrenando en linux y me parece genial este video,muchas gracias por subirlo y gracias a Ghandi por su legado.
I still dont get the “world market for maybe 5 computers”
Maybe if the community pooled together and worked on one distro, e.g debian or fedora and standardised it stuff would happen. At the moment it is literally just software anarchy.
Using Lucid the other day and realise they have fixed somethings and broke a whole lot more.
This is supposed to be the LTS… Hopefully an enterprise version of linux will become more successful and branch out from there, like microsoft/ibm did back in the day.
