Damn, is that right? Well I seen a picture where this guy posted a screenshot where he was able to get it done. Maybe he hacked it somehow to make it work. I didn’t really pay attention much to the post but now I wish I did because he explained how he did it. Oh well, I’ll still keep trying to find it.

Cool, I knew it must’ve been easier than a complicated hack, especially because of the way it was described in the post.

Personally, I like the way Lucid Lynx looks. That’s one of the cool things about Linux, you never know what to expect. I mean, why do people want to remain inside of a box. Linux in my view is to help people think differently so the fact that they are changing it is a good sign. Besides, most OS’s look the same anyways.

As far as it looking like a OSX, this doesn’t really bother me. Once they release Lucid they might change the theme again or you can change it yourself, so what’s the problem?

ubuntgeek(.)com as a solution that’ll switch the close, minimize and restore buttons

and it is a one liner in the terminal window apparently:

I haven’t tried it though i’m too scared right cause the ubuntu box is the only one that is running just now.

    gconftool-2 –set /apps/metacity/general/button_layout –type string :minimize,maximize,close

i trust ubuntugeek to be right on matters relating to ubuntu though.

    Very interesting.
I use the 8.04 LTS, and I use de computer to do basic tasks. I wonder if
I shall go to this new version or continue
using the old one. I am not an expert and
I am affraid of something going wrong in
the transition. Any way you video is very
    interesting. Thank you very much.
    Best regards,
    mario.

I’ve noticed that at 0:26 when you resize the windows, it’s ‘live’ like in Windows- is this by default or did you change some setting? In Karmic Koala, when I changed the setting for resizing windows to ‘Normal,’ it was a bit buggy as the windows border kept flashing when resizing. Has this been fixed in Lucid Lynx?

P.S. Why no videos on Linux Mint 9 Isadora?

na this is just a new install of Lucid Lynx

when will they have new wubi? the existing wubi is having issues when you update the grub.

    Comment | March 12, 2010
  • OSGUIShow

    oh really?
p.s. updating grub can screw a normal install of linux too sometimes so maybe its not a problem with wubi but with grub

    @OSGUIShow
Have you tried out the new youtube layout?
you can get it by going to youtube . com / watch5?enable=1
and disable it by replacing 1 with a 0.
