    the diferences are five things,
-paths for files, organization of files
-how information its takes and manage for system
-funtionality of distribution and updates (up to date, or stability)
-orientation of work distro: services (main objective), multimedia, games, ofice, or crach windosers stupid OS’s (je je, are u fear!)
-tipe of users oriented, avanceds, stupids, programers, gamers, educational.

Debian are for medium users, its stability over uptodate, and its the main and mother of many others (like winbuntu) and THE MOTHER OF ALL LIVE CD, all live cd as knoppix or DSL are made from debian. Debian are for real users.

RedHat (and also debian) its for windows users that not have enoug knowing of LAMP combination: Apache+PHP+MySQL+Linux, the award winner solution on web bussisness and e comerce!

Win-buntu are uptodate, come from debian, for stupid and windows-comming-from new users that not like vista, also not like linux, but cannot install XP on new hardware machines! (cos its machines not support XP, only vista)

Win-driva its for lazy new linux users, and currently its comming to dead soon, ja ja

Kubuntu its a winbuntu but more close to windows, cos its desktop are KDE that is close to XP-win98 in aparience!

Knoppix its thelive CD useds for many people, but new KANOTIX its more up to date, close to debian stable and hardware detection linux winner far away!

Musix are a multimedia distro, only for linux know users, can run on any, any! machine and its realtime OS.

Venenux are the multimedia distro, like musix but more complete, and support desing desktop, come with KDE and multimedia professional center, also have many games and up to date hardware support

They all use the Linux kernel. The main difference is the default applications that come with it, as well as package managers. I personally use Debian, which has spawned many forks ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fork_(software_development) ), such as Ubuntu.

Some are designed specifically for low end systems, whereas others are designed to be a multimedia center. Which one you want depends on what you want to do. If you want to install a very minimal system, with nothing that you don’t want then Gentoo might be a good option. I hear they’ve made it much easier to install.

Http://www.distrowatch.com <– An excellent source for the lowdown on almost all distributions of Linux. Go there and check it out. Then just download whichever one suits you. There are also many different window managers that ship as default. The most popular are Gnome and KDE. That’s a whole different story for another time though. Just play around with it to see what you prefer.

All used linux kernel, exep debioan that used linux kernel and others, al have option to download software, but debian its what have more software than others!

Redhat, mandriva, ubntu, kubuntu are lazy linuz, up to date and upt to last hardware support, but no much stable and only basic sofware (oficce, player, music) Its for lazy and stupid users, that quit linux fom pc at few days!

Debian are for services, but its the only oriented for all purposes, and follow GNU policy at end! Debia its stability over up to date, its best choice for bussisnes and services. And its for medium users.

Musix, linuxgames, knppixmame and venenux are for games, video editing and music eviorement, come with all multimedia ALL multimedia programs, and all support for gaming.

best choice its the live cd for testing, but theres and note on all: all are GNU, what its the meaning? that some programs not come ith nobody distribution, as flashplayer, nvidia GPU card modules, ATI radeonHD support, adobe reader, and many others.

i recommend live cd’s, KANOTIX, KNOPPIX VENENUX are for gamers, multimedia and video, with all codecs!
