Open office spell checker?

For open office which I use because I deleted Microsoft word on accident and the program I use most (open office writer) won’t spell check, none of the programs do but I need writer the most! So when I go to spell check it says “continue checking at the beginning of the document” and if I say yes It says that it’s done and If I press no it closes. And I did a test try and spelled words wrong on purpose and tried it and it said I spelled it right. What can I do?

-you need to load the entire file to actualize the previous version of OO
– you dont’ need to uninstall the previous version, – the new one will install upon it

How Can I Change Open Office File Extentions to Save For Windows?

I recently downloaded Open Office Suite with every program. I was very please and impressed by their programs. Their like the mirror image of Microsoft Office. I didn’t like the fact that it didn’t have a program like Outlook, though I have Mozilla Thunderbird. But my question is, is there a way to have everything I create (word, presentation etc) automatically save as a Word or Powerpoint file? I want this because I do work for school and my school doesn’t have open office so every time I use my flash drive to open a document created by open office it doesn’t work. So can I just change is so its Word and Powerpoint even though its Impress and Writer! THANKS!
I basically want to have the file extension change by auto!

One of the needs of an open source desktop application is the requirement to produce a PDF (Print Document File) that can be sent to anyone with a PDF reader.  

As any virtual assistant will tell you, in the nature of our work (which is truly online in every sense), document exchange is a big hassle. With public documents such as portfolio items it is unwise to use documents in their original formats, DOC, XLS, etc. So, the available alternative is to take up screen shots and convert it into JPEGs. In addition to the regular docs, spreadsheet, paint and other stuff in their suite, OpenOffice allows you to export you documents into PDF, where in the hyperlinks are retained , there is no watermark and there is no expiry as well.
