I’m drafting an agreement with a client that wanted us to develop a software on top of a Open Source software. Meaning, we will develop new modules on the existing open source software.
How would the IP Rights clause in the agreement sounds like?

I would like to do more than just reporting the bugs that i find on day to day usage of Open source software. Yet I do not exactly want to program for OSS because my programing skills are definitely lacking. What would be your suggestion Internet?
I use 100% open source.
Yankees Rule
Are you suggesting that only poor people use open source software ? I certainly hope not !
I am also a Computer Technician and I consider your answer to be utter garbage.
Steve
Why are you upside down ??
Steve
I bet that gives you a stiff neck though.
I know all the positives of open source software, but what I am asking is this. Is it possible to make money out of it? If yes, how?
If it isn’t possible, then can we hope for a future where all software will be open source? I doubt there will be many people wanting to "work" for free. Would it attract less people to software development? How will it affect software companies?
Companies such as videolan, Mozilla, canonical ,etc make open source software. These companies have programmers as employees and they have other expenses such as server maintainance, still they are not in loss. How they make money?
As a programmer, I am impressed by the quantity and quality of open source software products. A couple of the best ones I’ve personally used are: jEdit and FreeMind. I support the open source concept, but am concerned that it negatively impacts programmers’ income potential. Becoming an open source consultant would probably be the best way of making a living from writing open source code. How else can a programmer make a living from open source code?
Some additional questions… Can one legally repackage and resell open source? Are there standard types of open source licenses?
I need to find information on the government usage of open source software for a report. Any serious answers are appreciated. Thank you for the help.
I am currently looking for open source software projects but I don’t know where to start.
I am open to learning any new languages for the projects. I’m pretty much looking to gain experience in programming.
I have a background in C, PHP, SQL, HTML/XHTML, and CSS.
I am open to any suggestions.
How can I tell what open source software a site is using — for example does a site make use of Drupal, WordPress or other open source packages? Is there a free service that I can use to check this?
Is there an advantage of the open source model in terms of software quality? Do you see that in real life in terms of the open source software that you use?
