What are the operational differences between Linux and UNIX? Why would a programmer choose one over the other? What about software selection and ease of programming (with already basic knowledge of programming, and wanting to dive in to open source)?
In terms of Linux, what makes things like Red Hat cost money and things like Ubuntu not? Is pay-for OS based on Linux better quality than freely distributed OS? What is the best choice for Linux-or-Unix OS for a budding programmer?
Multi-boot Pc with Windows Vista & Ubuntu 9.4. This video When it comes to an OS (operating system) Linux owns windows outside of the online gaming like wow, shaiya, etc. Linux has no need for an antivirus because its not poorly designed like windows is. To make windows as secure as linux, they would have to scrap the whole os and start from scratch.
Here is an interesting question I found out there in the net.
Where can I find a open source Unix download for free, every time I find a new one I get a virus from it, it really sucks
I suppose this person is not picking up the source code from a relizble source. If you want to find the download, the best places to visit are the links on the Blogroll on the right of this page. You will not pick up a virus from these folks.
