I am thinking of buying a cheap netbook ( the ASUS Eee PC 4G 701). Will I be able to write a document on the linux netbook and transfer it to Microsoft Word on my home computer, and is this difficult?
If you have any additional knowledge/experience of this netbook, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Everyone,
I am an amateur programmer and I would like to make alot of my stuff open-source. How do I officially do that? Do I need to go through some legal channels to officially register it as open source, or do I need to simply say in my source code that I wish it to be open source?
I have to get about 15 small websites up and running, and it would be nice to have some framework I can just apply a template to.
I was thinking of just turning WordPress blogs into websites by creating a bunch of pages, but I would rather have something more catered towards regular websites. I looked at Drupal, but I’m not sure if it’s what I’m looking for. I don’t know enough about it.
I made a spreadsheet in which I keep customer addresses and such using Open Office.org
Originally when I had a column that had email addresses in it they were active. Now they’re not. How do I make them clickable or active again?
I am using Damn Small Linux and would like to display a list of all connected usb storage devices and their names from terminal for example i would like to be able to figure out what my ipod would be when connected for example /dev/sda1 or whatever. Thanks in advance!
If there is a gap in the open source software world for a particular application/system, is it generally possible to find companies/public organisations to help fund the creation of that project if someone is willing to coordinate / manage the project? Does anyone have any examples of projects initiated in this way? I’m thinking of a scale of project larger than a Google summer of code.
