Linux advocates claimed that Linux would be a major player in the netbook market. Unfortunately, Linux turned out to be a complete flop, like it is in every market. Very few companies sell netbooks with Linux operating systems.
Anyhow, why did Linux end in failure in the netbook market?
This is Fedora Core 5 running on the Playstation 3. And Ebay believes installing open source software on an open platform (as is stated on Sony’s site) is a “copyright violation”. Apparently they don’t understand open source…so my auction of this unit was cancelled without notification. What is the difference between Yellow Dog Linux 6 Mirror and just Yellow Dog Linux 6? Is it ok if i put the mirror into my PS3? Will it work like the regular one?
I am trying to think of new ways to hand out linux to people who otherwise can not download it from the net. Is it legal to stand on a street corner and hand them out like flyers?
I know you can boot linux from a usb, I just made one last night, but my question is how does it work on any machine I boot it on…how does it interface with different hardware?
Thanks to the Yahoo Linux Community, i took my first step and installed Linux Mint Helina into my system. I play around with it a little and really like it but I do not have any knowledge on how to install any drivers.
I tried to install pcwizard so that i could see my system information but unfortunately the software is not compatible with Linux. I not sure what i need to do, its totally a new environment for me.

My friend told me that its more stable then Microsoft product, so I thought I would give it a try. Since I started using Linux, my computer doesn’t crash, freeze, or even slow down. It boots up 5 times faster, and shuts down faster. I would think Windows would be more stable since you pay for it and its made by Microsoft, which is one of the richest company’s in the world?
