I have Open Office just to be able to save some files in pdf format. I like using MS Word and Excel for everything else. Recently however, my excel files began opening in Open Office vs MS and I want to stop that from happening. I tried to right click and open in MS and got garbage.
This is an easy queston to answer. You need to change the attributes in Windows for you *.xls files back to Excel. Its currently set to Open Ofice Calc. However, you could just use Open Office and make the default format for Calc file to *.xls. The differenc, however, may be with cells with blank values in the formulas. I use Open Office as much as possible as I stay on the Ubuntu side of my computer. Saving Calc files to *.xls let’s us stay with Open Office but be able to send work to others that they can open successfully.
Well, I am facing a really irritating problem with posting on blogs at WordPress. When I copy text from MS Word and paste it in the blog editor, all formatting is lost after saving the post and the whole text appears in one single paragraph !
I tried things that I knew, but no good. Could somebody help ?
I’ve wanted my Open Office documents to have margins exactly the way they are set in MS Word. Reason is, we have set margins in place by my school. Permanently is the key word, so that every time I start a new document, they margins are the way they are supposed to be.
I want to make the margins longer? I’m not sure if that’s the right way to say it. Basically right now when I write the box is small, so that one page in MS word equals two pages in the Open office template. Its a great template but I want to make the format longer not wider. Thanks!
It is my resume and I had it saved in my email but all I have is a trial of ms word so I cant change my resume unless I can get it to go to Open Office. Any help would be great. I have windows Vista.
