I have a trial version of Microsoft Office on my computer so i downloaded Open Office so I could make things easier. And it has, except when I’m emailed a file my computer automatically opens it in the Microsoft program. Is there a way I can tell my computer to open it in Open Office as the default?

okay, my microsoft ran out of its trial and i didn’t want to go and buy it so I just downloaded open office which is pretty much the same only it was free, but now the problem is that now when i try and open up a document off my usb pen it still opens up as the old mircosoft that has ran out and i can’t use it, so how do I make it open up as a open office document?

I have been transferring my open office docs to microsoft word and then saving it as a pdf. But the formatting gets goofed up in word and I don’t like using word.
