Hello Everyone,
I am an amateur programmer and I would like to make alot of my stuff open-source. How do I officially do that? Do I need to go through some legal channels to officially register it as open source, or do I need to simply say in my source code that I wish it to be open source?

What is a good simple, preferable open source, reporting tool?
I’m looking for a simple (*easy* to install and use) reporting tool to generate some simple reports. I need the ability to automate report generation and reports will need simple graphics (pie chart, bar graph) and ability to include logo graphics. Open source or free wold be best, but cheap would be ok too as we’re a small biz. Our data is generated on FreeBSD systems and our client machines are all Win XP so probably best if it’s XP based. Thanks.

Which open source ecommerce solution should I use?
I would like to create an online store that has the following features:
– Customers can purchase "points" or "credits"
– Customers can shop using the credits
– Customer can create profile
– Software can search for similar products using Google Products API
– Software can be used to generate receipts
– Software can be used to generate automated emails based on customer actions
Are there any open source ecommerce solutions like Zen Cart, or osCommerce that can do this? Any advice would be helpful.

I have looked at Magento, OSCommerce, Digistore, WP commerce and Zencart and most have limited themes available.
