Fedora 17 KDE Review – Linux Distro Reviews
So here is a review of the KDE under Fedora 17. Looks good.
Overall, this respin of Fedora 17 provides the same great stable base as the Gnome version, but with a very nicely unified KDE 4.8.3 Software Compilation. Complete with all of the great KDE apps, the Calligra Suite also makes a stable debut. Faster login time as well as easier – but somewhat old school – package management, Fedora 17 KDE is looking like a very worth while release. Thanks for the feedback everybody! In layman's terms, what is the "open source" movement and what does it aim to change about today's society?
So what is the "open source movement"? The little snippets of information that I’ve managed to gather tell me that the proponents of the open source movement want the right to be able to modify and redistribute software as they wish. So does this mean that they’re unsupportive of the current software copyright laws?
Is there a difference between open-source and free software?
I apologize for my ignorance, but I’ve only recently discovered an interest in programming.
Does anyone know any good open source scrubbing software?
Hey Everyone,
I want to donate my computer, but want to make sure all of the data has been deleted. I have heard that data can be recovered even if you reformat the hard drive. Does anyone know any good open source or free software that scrubs your computer?
What is the best open source social networking software available?
I am looking to start a social network for my company and I am wondering if anybody knows of a good open source PHP based solution. I have found a few scripts worth considering like phpfox. Can anyone suggest a better script? I am weary of using free software for obvious reasons, you get what you pay for, your site really isn’t yours…The list goes on.. Thanks in advance.
