I am trying to change wordpress themes on my wordpress blog, but I keep running into a problem. My content is already registered in the search engines and I am gaining ranking so I don’t want to have to keep posting my content over and over.
I was wandering if it is possible to change your wordpress theme and keep all of your postings on your wp blog? If possible could you please provide a step by step tut or a link to a guide if at all possible?
Thank you,
Jeff
I just realised I didn’t list my problem. My problem is that every time I switch themes all my content is deleted. Then I have to go back and re-post each individual blog post.
I am using wordpress direct to change my theme and add my post. Maybe that is why I am having problems. I am not sure, I will try and change my theme again and see what happens.
I’m using sqweebs.com as my host and I’d like to install wordpress themes which I know are WordPress 2.8.6 compatible. The problem is, even if I transfer it through FTP, it isn’t there! I tried putting in in the wp-content/themes folder and went onto my wordpress, it wasn’t there either. Even if I TRY to install plugins, it wouldn’t work. What should I do? Please help. I don’t even know what the problem is!
Yeah.. I did unzip the files..
I have been hearing a lot about how WordPress themes are not very optimized for the search engines, and came across a blog post mentioning that it was the best out there. Anybody have experience using the Thesis Theme for WordPress?
Can I fully customize and create my WordPress themes in my WordPress account (if so, how?), or do I need to host all my stuff on a separate website and install WordPress to my computer in order to get full customization?
